WAYS TO STAY INVOLVED
UVA School of Architecture is known for its exceptional alumni and we are always eager to find meaningful ways for you to stay involved in the life of the School. We hope you will consider volunteering to join us in one of the following ways.
Work with the Foundation to host an event where you live – from a small dinner to a cocktail reception, to a panel discussion or site tour – for alumni to socialize, network, and learn.
Recent regional events have taken place in:
+ New York City
+ San Francisco
+ Washington DC
INTERESTED IN HOSTING AN UPCOMING REGIONAL EVENT?
Provide career advice or job opportunities to students and alumni by:
+ Hosting a current student for a week-long externship in January or a summer internship
+ Posting job openings for students and alumni on the UVA website
+ Participating in the A-School Career Fair occurring each Spring to interview current students
+ Volunteering to critique portfolios/resumes in your area or at Campbell Hall
+ Having your firm/company join a student firm crawl in your area or hosting student groups to tour your office or studio
INTERESTED IN SUPPORTING CAREER DEVELOPMENT?
Help recruit the best students to the A-School by:
+ Volunteering to meet prospective students
+ Calling admitted students in March when they are making decisions about schools
+ Promote the school at your local high schools
+ Participate in admissions events in your area
INTERESTED IN SUPPORTING ADMISSIONS + RECRUITMENT?
+ Volunteer to talk to students or recent graduates about your profession, career path, and/or graduate school experience
+ Sit on alumni panels
+ Work with faculty teaching courses in Professional Practice to program unique experiences that show students the diverse opportunities they have post-graduation and into their future careers.
