NEW URBAN WORLDS WORKSHOP

Featuring AbdouMaliq Simone

AbdouMaliq Simone, an urbanist and research professor at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity, will be leading a workshop co-sponsored by the African Urbanism Lab and the Institute for the Humanities and Global Cultures at UVA.  

Participants will have the opportunity to discuss select chapters from Simone's recent book, New Urban Worlds, co-authored with Edgar Pieterse (Polity Press, 2017).  


This workshop is organized in coordination with AbdouMaliq Simone public lecture at 5pm on Monday, April 16, at Campbell Hall.
