Smithsonian Creativity and Innovation Festival

Celebrating innovation in science, engineering, art, and design, this October the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History in Washington D.C. hosted its inaugural ACCelerate: ACC Smithsonian Creativity and Innovation Festival. UVA students and faculty presented four projects and one performance for the event, including the School of Architecture’s interdisciplinary Yamuna River Project. Co-director and Architecture Professor, Iñaki Alday described the opportunity as vital to highlight the scope and scale of the Yamuna project: “It is such a big, complex problem, and a platform that needs the participation of many people and groups.”
