Elmaleh Gallery
How does space become place? Taking inspiration from this prompt and the Talking Heads’ 1983 song, This Must Be the Place, the Elmaleh Gallery is transformed into a welcoming lounge or "third space" where new and returning students can observe, learn/re-learn, and engage with what makes this school, university, and city unique, and uniquely theirs.

Naug Lounge
Join a sketching workshop inspired by the places and spaces around Grounds and Charlottesville, and our diverse backgrounds. Participants will learn how to approach an urban scene when sketching: how to break it down compositionally, slowly build up detail, and employ basic rules of perspective. No previous experience is required; materials will be provided. Hosted by sketch@UVA and the UVA Chapter of the American Institute of Architecture Students AIAS (AIAS).
Exhibit your best napkin sketch in the Elmaleh Gallery to be part of the annual Napkin Sketch Competition hosted by AIAS.
The A-School community is invited to vote and bid on their favorite drawings to purchase and raise money for Charlottesville's Building Goodness Foundation.
