Zhang Ke, principal of the Beijing-based firm ZAO/standardarchitecture, envisions new models for sustainable co-living highlighting the vital relationships between interior and exterior, architecture and landscape, memory and identity. Zhang's School of Architecture installation draws from his 2023 exhibition co-living at the Venice Architecture Biennale. 


About the Designer

Zhang Ke

Zhang Ke is the 2025 Thomas Jefferson Visiting Professor at the UVA School of Architecture and the founder of the Bejing-based firm, ZAO/standardarchitecture, which he established in 2001. With a wide range of realized works over the past two decades, the studio has emerged as one of the most critical and innovative protagonists among the new generation of Chinese architects.
