Biography
Caetano is a Lecturer at the University of Virginia's School of Architecture, where he teaches "Transportation and the Environment." Previously, he instructed Equitable and Sustainable Transportation I and II, emphasizing the integration of social equity and sustainability into urban and transportation planning. This academic work complements his role as the Associate Director of Energy Efficiency at the Virginia Department of Energy, where he leads statewide initiatives to improve building energy efficiency and promote sustainable practices.
From 2019 to 2024, Caetano served as the Climate Policy Director at the Community Climate Collaborative (C3), spearheading their “Energy Equity” and “Accessible and Clean Transportation” policy advocacy campaigns. He has co-authored reports with organizations such as the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) and The Economist Group, bringing significant experience in stakeholder engagement and policy advocacy, including lobbying for federal climate policies. Caetano’s work blends rigorous research and analysis with practical solutions to foster equitable climate initiatives, enhance community resilience, and support sustainable economic growth.
