Biography
Kim joined the development and alumni relations team of the UVA School of Architecture in 2009 and has held several positions from Assistant Director of Operations and Outreach, to Associate Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations to currently, the Director of Engagement and Alumni Initiatives. Throughout her tenure at the School, Kim has focused on building a strong A-School community of alumni, parents, and friends that remain connected to one another and to the School. In her current role, Kim oversees all alumni and friend engagement including coordinating and planning 60+ events across the country each year, and creating opportunities and programs for the alumni community to help further the School’s mission with career development (portfolio/resume reviews, firm crawls, student mentorship), recruitment of prospective students (calling admitted students, ambassadors for college fairs, alumni panels) and communications (alumni news, promoting accomplishments, alumni exhibits). She staffs two out of the three alumni boards for the A-School, including the Dean’s Advisory Board and the A-School Young Alumni Council, which she helped to establish in 2011. Kim enjoys working closely with her teammates within the School’s Foundation (Development team), as well as the Dean and School leadership to set strategy on fundraising, external communications and alumni relations. She also hits the road regularly to meet the A-School’s wonderful alumni and donors – always looking for ways to strengthen the network and the support of the School.
After spending five years in Charlottesville, Kim now lives and works remotely from northwest Washington, DC with her husband and two young sons. Kim loves great food, company, and conversation.
